Mission Kitchen

For the redesign of this Mission neighborhood kitchen, the sink was relocated from a small side pantry into the main kitchen area and centered on the window. The refrigerator, washer, dryer, and dry storage, were moved into the former pantry space, and a floor-to-door height window was installed to bring more light. To reference the vintage nature of the house, add texture, and relate to the adjacent dining room, the kitchen walls were clad with wood boards and battens. Crisp painted base cabinets, floating wood shelves, industrial light fixtures, and a colorful Heath tile splash transform the space into a classically modern home. The former laundry room was converted into a breakfast bar and potting room overlooking the garden.
